Mobile Radiations Aren’t Harmful, Uncovers A Recent Study

New studies show a relief in the danger caused on humans by mobile radiations. Scientists exposed male rats to a huge amount of mobile phone radiations. Observations showed the formation of minor tumors around the heart area. So, when it comes to the human beings, our immune system is much more advanced and stronger than that of rats.

About The Experiment

The main cause why tumors developed in rats was due to the exposure of harsh amounts of radio frequency emitted by the mobile phones. The emission of these radiations by our mobile phones is much lower compared to this experimental setup. This experiment was conducted on two rats. The male rat supposedly had an existing tumor which increased slightly. On the other hand, the female one didn’t show any signs of tumor or other such problems. These rats were further examined to observe any other disorders. No such health problems were found in them.

Mobile Radiations

Mobile radiations have been a major concern for humans since the time of its advancement and increasing use. Radiowaves can cause brain cancer as cellphones are always held near to our face. Ionizing radiations emitted from X-rays are much more harmful which can lead to cancer damaging your DNA.

Though Federal Communication Commission has its norms that companies need to take care of. The norms regulate the number of radiations that can emit from the cellphone. The Food and Drug Administration also has some controls on this regulation.

The experiment conducted was only with the 2G and 3G network mobile radiations. Experiments with 4G and 5G network mobile radiations will be conducted soon. Rats were exposed to strong radiations for a good nine hours and over a time span of two years.

“A rat that is 2 years old is roughly equivalent to a 70-year-old person,” Source: STAT News reports

John Bucher, a senior scientist quotes, “These findings should not be directly extrapolated to human cell phone usage. Even with frequent usage by the vast majority of adults, we have not seen an increase in events like brain tumors.” said the FDA with a positive response.

WhatsApp Soon To Release Group Voice and Video Calling Feature

Over the time, WhatsApp, one of the most popular free messaging applications, has tremendously progressed with its user base. It never fails to amaze us. The features are very much up to date and it has always been known for bringing out popular highlights. However, the much-awaited V&V (Voice and Video) calling feature has been under the launch period all this while. But, wait no more as WhatsApp is through all the checks and the Group Voice & Video feature is all set to release (in the BETA version) soon.

WhatsApp will enable the group calling feature in the BETA version which will overcome the previously felt quality glitches present in one-to-one conversations. Users might experience a significant change with this update. He/ she will be able to add participants to their on-going voice or video calls irrespective of them being the owner or not.

The screenshots that are displayed below will show how the entire interface looks. (Please note that the video calling option here is being turned off.) The consecutive screenshot shows the participants being involved in the voice call. And a video call can easily be enabled against the names of all contacts.

Probably, there’s a huge chance of group administrators getting a control on who should be added to the voice or video call! Though, it is still not sure if the group admins will actually get this control or not. But just imagine the chaos! This reminds me of the game, Monopoly.

The V&V feature is surely a great deal to help you plan out conference calls with the group members. But, I feel that this plan will only be successful if WhatsApp doesn’t show the notification of who called whom, which normally appears in the chat box. Big deal? Create a new group for that matter to avoid even the smallest hint.

The feature is said to be available only in the BETA version of WhatsApp and might not be provided to the other versions as of now. The feature has been in news for a long time and users have also have claimed to witness the same. And the above screenshot is a proof of the same.

Whatsapp is also experimenting with another feature – Switching over to video call mode during an on-going voice call. As of now, a user has to disconnect the voice call in order to make a video call and wait for the other person to respond. Sharing Live Location, Whatsapp Business, and Delete for everyone are a few newly introduced features by WhatsApp!

Facebook Detects 200 Million Fake Accounts, India Tops The List!

Much popular social media platform, Facebook, has been dealing with a lot of duplicate and fake accounts lately. According to its annual reports, these accounts now have rounded up to a figure of 200 million. Countries like India, Vietnam, and Indonesia top the list! And this data has been graphed in the month of December 2017.

TechGYO_Facebook Detects 200 Million Fake Accounts

“In the fourth quarter of 2017, we estimated that the duplicate accounts may have represented approximately 10 percent of our worldwide MAUs (Monthly Active Users),” says Facebook in its yearly report. “We believe the percentage of duplicate accounts is meaningfully higher in developing markets such as India, Indonesia, and the Philippines, as compared to more developed ones,” it further added.

The reports of December 2016 shows an increase of 1.86 Billion MAUs out of which 114 million accounts are bogus which implies to around 6 percent of the total MAUs!

Account holders from India, Indonesia and Vietnam have been the major sources of this growth in 2017. Globally, a 14% increase was recorded in the Daily Active Users (DAUs). This accounts for around 1.40 billion in December 2017 compared to the 1.23 billion DAUs recorded in December 2016.

And for your information, there’s a difference between a duplicate and a fake account. A duplicate account is when a person owns another Facebook profile apart from his/ her existing profile. Whereas a Fake account can be classified in two manners: Having personal account for professional purposes or owning a non-human entity account like that of a pet. False accounts are essentially undesirable accounts that do not follow the site’s terms of service or are used for criminal activities.

“The estimates of duplicate and false accounts are based on an internal review of a limited sample of accounts, and we apply significant judgment in making this determination,” the annual report further elaborated.

However, the figures mentioned can differ from the actual number of duplicate and fake accounts as tracking such accounts is not an easy task!

Google Home Can Now Wake You Up With Your Favorite Song

0

Google continuously keeps working towards bringing out the best for its users.  It stays nowhere behind in pleasing them with amazing products and their updates. And for all the users who own a Google Home device, they now have another reason to love this technology giant! Google has introduced an update for Google Home which allows them to set their favorite song as their alarm tune. And some more significant features have also been added to Google Assistant.

What’s More With Google Home?

With the ongoing discussion about the alarm feature, how can you actually set it? Simply activate the feature by commanding Assistant on Google Home or an Assistant-enabled speaker, “Hey Google, set an alarm for 7.30 AM that plays (mention the musician of your choice).” Waking up will become less compelling and more enjoyable when the day for you starts with your favorite music. Other streaming applications like Spotify and Pandora can also be used to select your songs.

Devices like Google Home, Google Home Max, or smart speakers enabled with Google-assistant will be able to access this feature. It’ll be a bit similar to that of Amazon’s music-derived alarm features for the series of Alexa devices.

The Home will also be able to assist you with your queries related to the shows you watch or the channel on which it plays. All you have to do is, ask “Hi Google when does FRIENDS air next?” to which the device will notify you of the details.

The technology giant also released a new feature of voice-match supporting particular Netflix bio-data. By saying “Hey Google, play Narcos on Netflix”, the device will start playing from the part you last left. And this remains the same for every family member. Interesting, isn’t it?
