San Diego is home to the San Diego Chargers, an American football team and  Jack Murphy Stadium. Since 1997 Qualcomm has had naming rights to Jack Murphy Stadium for 20 years at $18 million. Now in a bid to raise brand awareness for its Snapdragon processors, they’ve changed the name of the Stadium toSnapdragonStadiumwhich is only temporary name change lasted for only about 11 days from December 18th  2011 as a part of its marketing campaign to make people aware of their powerful Snapdragon based processors.

Consumers who buy these smart gadgets are more savvy, they’d like to spend money on the best product they can get hands on. How To Be A More Productive Writer

1

Productive writing doesn’t necessarily mean writing a lot of articles in a day without any concern for the subject. As the saying by Woody Guthrie goes, “any idiot can make things complicated, but it takes a genius to make things simpler”, Being a writer, it is not just important to write more, but exceed your own quality standards every time. While yet maintaining the pace and frequency you write. However, it is easier said than done. Here we are going to share some tips that may help you get things under control and increase your productivity without making any strenuous effort. They have worked for me and hopefully, they may work for you as well:

productive as a writer

Fast, fast:

You are perfectionist and I have nothing against perfectionists. I have come across numerous bloggers who are very much passionate about their writing style and they are so much obsessed with it that they edit every single sentence they wrote. But the bad thing is that those articles, even end up having some errors in them. If you are editing and writing simultaneously, you must be taking up horribly long time to wrap up an article. So, what you should do is to stop editing and writing at the same time. It makes sense to not to interrupt yourself when you are in a flow and once you are done with two or three articles, you may edit them at one go. Effective and time saving.

So You Think You Can Multi Tasks:

You are a great writer and like every other great human beings, you should be good at multi tasking. Mean, you can be really good at checking emails, tweeting, updating your facebook fanpage and write a creative post at the same time. Probably you are getting it wrong. I have personally found myself more productive when I am concentrating one a single work rather than shifting my focus on multiple tasks. The more focused you get one a single task, the easier it becomes for you to get it done without dragging your feet at the signs of some complex task.

Have a Better Writing Environment:

Content writers need a peaceful environment. Kids infested place or blaring sound of loud music is not going to help you as a productive writer. But it is not that easy to find such a peaceful place and I am well aware of this difficulty, so my humble suggestion is to put on your trusted pair of headset and start listening to some great music. Yah, I know that this is too a noise but this is far better than other noise that may destabilize you completely.

Take Rest To Think Between Writing:

It is of high importance for a writer to take a break occasionally when you are thinking for new points. You will feel more relaxed, rejuvenated and finally more inspired. Treat a break as a reward.  Make sure you are taking off at least on weekends otherwise you will soon find yourself devoid of creative juice. Break entire days work into small segments and you will not have to worry about lacking your creative ability to write on complex topics as you will have enough time to rest your perched brain.

12 Tips to Write A Reader Friendly Article

3

You can probably put together a blog post comprising a few hundred words in a jiffy. But can you make it absolutely readable and reader-friendly? What do readers really like and what are their comfort levels? Successful bloggers have contemplated these aspects and figured out how to write a reader-friendly post. Here are 12 of the methods that they use.

reader friendliness

1. Remember You’re Writing For People

You may be selling a product or service and use content mainly to generate traffic. You might be focused on getting organic traffic your way through search engine and forget that your content has to please people as well.  Always keep your readers in mind, and not search engine spiders when you pen your content.

2. Use Headers And Sub-Headers

Very few people have the time or the patience to read through unbroken pieces of text to figure out what you’re trying to say. Most often, people tire after reading the first couple of paragraphs and give the rest of your post a miss. Be sure to break up your article into distinct paragraphs, aligned under relevant headers and sub-headers so people can read and digest the material easily.

3. Always Pen A Good Intro

This allows people to grasp your content’s objective in a few seconds, and decide whether they want to invest more time on it or not. Your intro should be brief, to the point, and describe exactly what the post offers and what the reader can learn from it. Your intro should convince people that it’s worth their time to read through the rest of the text.

4. Don’t Use Keywords Irresponsibly

We all have to use carefully positioned keywords so that search engines are able to index our pages accurately. Still, throwing in keywords at random into sentences that don’t flow naturally is a huge negative. People who visit your site to check out your content and products will actually be offended if you use keywords irresponsibly. Be careful where you put in keywords and pay attention to how your sentences flow. Your keywords are for SEO purposes, not for readers.

5. Make Sure You Check Spelling And Grammar

Don’t insult readers by publishing a piece of content that’s badly written and is full of grammar issues. If you do so, you will lose your reader’s respect, not to speak of Google Panda coming down heavily on you. Take care to scan each piece of content carefully before posting it. Run your spelling and grammar check software twice before posting.

6. Use Short Sentences And Paragraphs

Today’s web readers are harassed for time; they have much to do and still want to catch up on their favorite blogs. Respect their time. Use short, crisp sentences and keep your paragraphs limited to 3 to 4 sentences. Most people skip over large paragraphs that look never ending.

7. Create Authoritative Outbound Links

If you’re citing referenced material, provide outbound links to authoritative sources for best impact. Provide links to other sites that may provide additional information to the reader as well. Readers who want their facts perfect will appreciate the extra effort you put in. Don’t put in random links that interfere with their reading.

8. Keep The Layout Simple And Readable

How much time do you spend reading content that’s interspersed with large quotations, sudden large fonts and bracketed columns in a magazine? Don’t you wish that the magazine creators would focus a little less on fancy layouts and a little more on readability? Your blog is a sort of magazine; keep your layouts simple and readable.

9. Watch Your Fonts

Weird looking fonts may seem like a unique touch to you but are usually a bother to readers. Not everyone has twenty-twenty eyesight. Weird fonts, changing font size throughout the post, using multiple fonts and colors in a single post can put people off.

10. Use A Reader-Friendly Template

Your blog template must be attractive and unique but should not disturb reader’s focus. Use text and background contrasts imaginatively, and keep them positive. Negative contrasts such as white text on black background are to be avoided at all costs.

11. Don’t Use Big Words

Unless you’re writing specifically for Harvard graduates, stay off the big, unpronounceable words. Keep your writing simple. The rule of thumb is this; any high school grad should be able to read and understand your post perfectly without having to open a dictionary.

12. Write Simple But Effective Headlines

A crisp, attention-grabbing headline is worth a thousand thoughtfully written blogs that no one reads. Grab your readers with headlines that make them want to read through your post. For example, if you are writing a post on writing good headlines, title it as, ‘How to write attention-grabbing headlines’ and not ‘Writing good headlines’. You get the drift.

5 Reasons Why Crowdfunding Helps Tech Startups

Most startup companies usually face a lot of glitches especially in the initial phase of setting up a business. As a startup tech company, you may have a world-changing product and are ready for business to bring it to the world.  But if you cannot manage to obtain the funding you need to get up and running, the product is as good as nothing. As an entrepreneur, it is also equally important for you to make people see what makes your idea so special. If you cannot do so, the greatest of ideas and plans can come crashing down.

Crowdfunding is a unique solution that has already helped numerous entrepreneurs and their startup companies have access to that all important launch pad for their products. You can truly maximize your chances of success by using a crowdfunding platform for project fundraising, particularly for technology products and services. The following are a few significant benefits startups enjoy by using crowdfunding services.

No Dependence on Banks

Applying to a bank for a loan is a tedious process. Getting bank loans for innovative ideas is not all that easy and these days requires a spotless credit history and a lot of convincing. Then there is the hassle of collateral, high rates of interest etc. making it a costly and risky proposition. On the other hand, with crowdfunding, you can always share your idea through large inter-connected networks of relevant supporters and backers such as social media tools. If you present and spread word about your startup and its product/service well enough, you can be rest assured that the contributions will flow in. At this stage of your project, all of your activity also serves as free marketing and the building of a fundamental support base that you can draw on much later on as your business develops.

Free Publicity and Press

As if simple and straightforward, no-strings attached funding was not enough, with crowdfunding, you can also reap the benefits of free press. Once your project starts making a name for itself and becomes popular, you can leave it up to bloggers, online papers and other forms of media to publicize your cause on your behalf. While other entrepreneurs can be found scrambling for this kind of publicity, through crowdfunding you will get free access to it in addition to a contribution stream of revenue to help our startup during its leanest times when operations are just getting underway.

Validation of Your Idea

As an entrepreneur and new startup, it is not just enough for you and your closest circle to appreciate your idea, technology and vision for a product or service. If others, particularly your intended customer base, does not see sense in you or your products, it will ultimately not sell. As a result, every contribution you collect towards your crowdfunding project is like a vote of validation for your idea.

Total Control

Using crowdfunding to collect contributions from people who support your idea and believe in it is one of the biggest advantages of using this method. This is always a better option than going about the old fashioned way and taking the assistance of investors who over the past few years have become increasingly demanding, short-term oriented, bottom-line driven and uncompassionate to the original founders of a company or inventors behind it. As crowdfunding does not impose you restrictions and never tells you how to run your business or ask you to give up anything in return for the contributions you collect, you can always exercise more control in executing your project and assure a more successful transition from a new startup to established firm.

Street Credibility

Once you are able to run a successful project on a crowdfunding site, your credibility in the market is bound to rise. This will help you gain extra leverage when going for future funding projects or funding from banks or traditional investors for big-growth spurts. Keep in mind that once you have a number of people who believe in your company and ideas, they will influence others as well and help spread the gospel. A healthy chain reaction of recognition, influence and popularity are all what crowdfunding campaigns can enable.

TechMoola.com, a recently launched crowdfunding platform devoted to and specialized in technology startup fundraising, provides entrepreneurs the power to raise funds specific to their technology projects. Most importantly, TechMoola.com does not claim rights over intellectual property or inventions. In fact, there is absolutely no interference from the website in how operations are run or money raised is used. All they do is to provide you with funding platform for you to do your best and raise the money you need. So if you are looking for true freedom to express your business technology, why not try TechMoola.com?

iTunes Match vs. Google Music

1

Just this year, Google and Apple came out with their newest innovations: Google Music and iTunes Match, respectively. The two serve the same purpose, but each one is unique.

Google Music, once known as “Music Beta for Google,” has grown into a vast and dynamic database of music. Songs and album compilations are available for free and for minimal cost. Users register for an account through an easy-to-use interface and then install a Music Manager on their computer hard-drive for the sake of uploading and organizing music from Google Music’s cloud storage locker. Where the iTune is more indirect and difficult in its application and approach, though, this process is easier but can take a while. The Music Manager requires about a minute or two, but the music files take longer, depending on the load size and the cloud computing activity rate at the time. Once this process is complete, users are good to go.

itunes match vs google play music

Much like the iTunes’ Match feature, which updates a user’s collection through file-matching, Google’s Instant Mix enables the Music Manger to create unique playlists. Both of these services allow users to develop an individualized library with the help of software configured to personal preferences and existing files. The only difference is that Google requires an additional desktop application to do it, where iTunes doesn’t.

The Android Market, however, is Google’s gleaming gem. This particular service allows users to download music to about ten of their authorized mobile devices. Users can listen to their songs anytime and anyplace. And iTunes does this as well, but not only music; movies, TV shows, podcasts and other applications go right to the iPhone, iPad or iPod for easy access.

One should not forget the artist hubs. This service is also exclusive to Google Music. These hubs allow users to upload, share and sell their own music or other works, so the account-holders get in on the action, and with full control over their pricing. Users can promote themselves and make money while also developing their music collections.

Google prices generally run .69c – $1.29 per track. Since artists take advantage of the price control, very few songs go at 69c. Again, iTunes is the same in cost, but where Google’s store features personalized recommendations by staff, iTunes provides information tags on their files.

The iTunes Match is the latest incarnation of the long-existing iTunes by Apple, so this has had time to develop. Unlike Google Music, iTunes Match requests an annual fee of $24.99. Still, this is accessible on OS-X Mac as well as P.C. Windows 7, XP and Vista. That means that almost anyone can use it.

And the library is a vast one, containing billions of files. As a matter of fact, iTunes reported ten billion downloads between 2003 and 2010, making it the biggest online music database in existence. Users have no problem finding their favorite songs or artists.

As a matter of fact, where Google Music deals strictly with music, the iTunes store offers more: TV shows, movies sound processing, video support, podcasts, ebooks, PDF format and even access to various applications, and, as said, any of these can download to the iPhone, iPad, iPod and iPod-Touch. When one considers this, the annual fee makes sense.

Both Google Music and iTunes Match provide the same basic service, but each one is different: Where the former requires no registration, it takes longer to upload and allows users minimal control over choice selection, and, again, artists have the opportunity to promote themselves and sell their own work. On the other hand, the latter requires an annual fee and has a somewhat circuitous sign-up, but it offers more of a variety.

The choice is not easy. The right selection depends on the user’s particular needs and preferences. Whichever way users go, they are in for a treat.
