And I have seen that most of the people who have commented on my blog, doesn’t know how to customize their avatar or doesn’t really know how it works. So I thought of sharing this small but beneficial information for those guys who would like to display custom avatar in comments,, instead of default one.

Just look at the picture below, you can make out that most of the comments have default avatar. And we are now going to show you how to change them all at once.

To change the Avatar or userpic into custom ones, just go to Gravatar.com and then register yourself with the email ID which you will be regularly using for commenting on blogs, alternatively, if you own a blog in WordPress.com (eg: yourblog.wordpress.com) then you can login to Gravatar using your wordpress.com login and then upload your custom image to appear when you use your email address in comments. Once you’ve added your custom image, it will soon start to appear in all of the comments made using that email address.

Here’s a quick video overview of Gravatar.

Interestingly, this is the service straight from Automattic, the Company which is behind WordPress.comIntenseDebateVideoPress, and Polldaddy.
