In a remarkable stride towards bolstering gender diversity and inclusion in the technology sphere, the JobsForHer Foundation, in partnership with the Karnataka Digital Economic Mission (KDEM) and notable collaborators including Infosys Springboard, UiPath, and Broadridge, has unveiled HerShakti. This exclusive program, debuted during the esteemed AccelHERate & DivHERsity Awards 2024, powered by HerKey, represents a pivotal milestone in advocating for women’s participation in the tech workforce.
HerShakti emerges as a beacon of opportunity, heralding the first-of-its-kind government-industry joint endeavor aimed at reintegrating women into the technology sector. Under the ambit of the W@W – Women at Work initiative, this program sets out to upskill 500 women returnees in emerging technologies over the next six months.
Tailored to address the unique requisites of women re-entering the workforce and those embarking on their tech careers, HerShakti offers a comprehensive curriculum spanning essential technical competencies and professional skills crucial for today’s dynamic job market. From Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, and Cyber Security to Intelligent Process Automation (IPA), Blockchain, and Cloud Computing, courses are facilitated by industry leaders such as Infosys Springboard, UiPath, and Broadridge. With a steadfast focus on diversity and inclusivity, the program endeavors to equip women with diverse skill sets, thereby fostering a more balanced and versatile workforce.
The program received its official launch by Honorable Minister Shri. Priyank Kharge, Minister of IT/BT and Panchayat Raj, during his keynote address at the AccelHERate conference powered by HerKey. Minister Priyank underscored the pivotal role of empowering women in the tech industry and elucidated on the positive ramifications of such initiatives on Karnataka’s digital economy.
The launch event witnessed the presence of eminent personalities including Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO of KDEM, Rajesh Nambiar, APJ Director – Academic and Learning Alliances, UiPath, and Roopashri VY, VP – Head of Learning & Development, Broadridge.
